What is Physical Self-Care?

Definition

Self-care comes in a variety of sizes, shapes, and forms. In November, we shared a “self-care routine” post that highlighted some of COVE’s favorite ways to practice and integrate self-care throughout the day. We want to take this a step further in the next few weeks and zone in on some of the more specific ways we practice the different types of self-care: physical, emotional, social, and spiritual.

Physical self-care includes all the practices that help you energize your body. Physical self-care can be both on the surface, like getting your nails done or doing a face mask, and from within, like eating healthy and drinking water! Physical self-care can also be as simple as practicing daily hygiene, or as exerting as an hour-long workout. At the end of the day, practicing physical self-care fuels your body to help you feel your best!

Experiences

At COVE, some of the main ways we practice physical self-care is through exercising, entertaining our hobbies, relaxing our bodies, and monitoring the food we eat.
