We are ecstatic to announce that the Community of Volunteer Educators (COVE) has officially begun our partnership with Commonpoint Queens!
Together, we have created a pilot program that will serve up to 64 students, with the possibility of expansion in the spring of 2021. Designed for 1st and 2nd grade students, this program offers instruction in the subjects of reading, math, science and social studies. The program will be led by seven COVE tutors who are current students at Barnard, UPenn, UT Austin, Binghamton, St. Johns, and Columbia. The program will take place from November 9-December 17 on Mondays through Thursdays at 3-5 PM.
Through this educational program, we hope to further the mission of Commonpoint Queens: to sustain and enhance the quality of family and individual life for all members of their community regardless of religion, ethnic or cultural background, national origin, gender, sexual identity or sexual preference, age, or disability, within a pervasive and inclusive environment that facilitates individual growth, meets individual needs and builds community.
If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us or Commonpoint Queens:

We had our first ever fundraising drive the week of 9/8 - 9/11! We raised more than DOUBLE our initial goal of $1,000!
Thank you to all who participated and generously donated to us. It’s surreal to see how far we’ve come as a community, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s support.
The donations will help expand our online platforms, upgrade virtual classrooms, and fund educational resources for the next year and improve programs for our COVE families.
